it is worthy to note that following the resource inspection visitation carried out by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in October 2014, approval was granted the Institution to commence the National Diploma programme in Accountancy Department. A substantive Head of Department was appointed in October 2014. Consequently, the first intakes commenced studies in the department in 2014/2015 academic year.
The department was on its eight year of operation when in September 2022 the department had another visitation carried out by the NBTE for Resource Inspection to accreditation.

Course Objectives [Full-Time]
The goal of the National Diploma in Accountancy programme is to produce technical manpower who can effectively perform a range of functions in the field of accountancy, insurance, banking and in financial institutions and departments. Graduates of the programme should be able to:
- assist in collection and integration of basic financial data for use in investment decisions;
- prepare final accounts of companies;
- assist in the preparation of short and long term budget plans;
- collect and collate relevant financial information to aid superior officers and management in making financial decisions;
- interpret some basic ratio, statistical and financial data; and
- carry out preliminary survey and feasibility studies.
