it is worthy to note that following the resource inspection visitation carried out by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in October 2014, approval was granted the Institution to commence the National Diploma programme in Electrical / Electronics Engieneering Technology. A substantive Head of Department was appointed in October 2014. Consequently, the first intakes commenced studies in the department in 2014/2015 academic year.

The department was on its eight year of operation when in September 2022 the department had another visitation carried out by the NBTE for Resource Inspection to accreditation.

Course Objectives [Full-Time]
The National Diploma programme in Electrical Engineering Technology is designed to produce technicians for the manufacturing, assembling, power generation and transmission industries. At the end of the programme, the diploma holder should be able:
- to construct and design simple/complex electronic circuits for use in modification or as part of a major construction;
- erect, assemble and install electrical/electronic equipment;
- to select and use appropriate instruments to carry out simple tests and measurement on all types of electrical/electronic installations and equipment under various conditions; and to apply the basic principles of management to manage engineering industries

Entry Requirement
NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) PROGRAMMES
WAEC,GCE[O/L],SSCE,NECO,NABTEB or equivalent with Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one subject from: Biology/Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics, Marketing, Geography, Economics/Commerce
